About Psychotherapy
and Licensed Clinical Social Workers

  • Approximately 40 percent of psychotherapy in the United States is provided by Licensed Clinical Social Workers.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Workers are educated and trained at the Masters Degree or Ph.D. levels in psychotherapy.   They must also have at least two years of supervised experience as a therapist after graduation before taking a state licensing examination.
  • Clinical Social Workers are governed by a strict code of ethics.
  • Values of the social work profession are reflected in my practice and include:
    • The dignity and worth of the client
    • The uniqueness and individuality of each person
    • The importance of human relationships
    • Safeguarding confidentiality
